The New York Times reports the swine flu virus has continued its international spread, albeit slowly, with the number of confirmed cases rising from 257 to 331 over the past day, according to the World Health Organization. http://m1e.net/c?101077382-wcUtpA791ivmg%404207759-QvsdpIR7uZQeo Mexico's health minister expressed optimism yesterday that the spread of the flu in Mexico is slowing (AP). http://m1e.net/c?101077382-bpTQ8BY29Q7FQ%404207760-q01XFF0E4yJic

Meanwhile, the Wall Street Journal reports the World Health Organization has no immediate plans to raise its alert level to Level Six, the highest level, after having already bumped its level twice in the past week. http://m1e.net/c?101077382-OaX7so85CByhw%404207761-ACgjD.5uTeiqI Raising the alert to Level Six would mean declaring a global pandemic.
